# 1SQuint

> A thought experiment about the future of Earth society. The premise: societal progress may be the sum of our collective struggles and aspirations, which would mean progress depends on how many "sapiosentients" -- self-aware beings well along the path of maximizing their own potential -- a society manages to produce. Would it take 1 billion? 1 trillion? 1 quadrillion? Maybe even 1 quintillion?

1SQuint is a speculative, philosophical project, not a research organization. It explores its premise through both fiction and non-fiction, and invites contributions.
